This is a place where excellent conditions for skiing can be expected: with 109 kilometres of ski runs and 29 ski lifts and cable cars Mellau Damüls Faschina is the largest ski area in the Bregenzerwald.

The "Schollamoos" is located in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Alberschwende. In the past, peat was extracted from this moor. Today, a well-maintained walking path leads through the birch forests and the moor area. 

Located well away from the large overcrowdsed ski areas, Warth-Schröcken, with its unrivalled snow record and interesting features, offers a secret haven for families and sports skiers alike.

Along the Felder Trail, which leads from Hinterhopfreben to Schoppernau, panels with quotations from the work of Franz Michael Felder point out important aspects of his life.

The mountain lake can be comfortably reached on foot from the Fontanella Säge bus stop in about 30 minutes. The slightly ascending and descending, low-traffic, asphalted road (access by car only permitted for residents) leads past the houses of Garlitt and on to the Seewaldseetobel.

The siblings Merbot, Diedo and Ilga, who descended from the count, left their home and riches behind and dedicated themselves to the Christianization of the Bregenzerwald in the service of the Mehrerau Abbey. Ilga said goodbye to her brothers one last time on the Lorena Pass, and they wept.

Since its formation in 1999, the Bregenzerwald Werkraum has really created a platform for itself: work produced in the Werkraum is recognised worldwide, and its talented and innovative craftsmen and women are in great demand, both at home and abroad.

On hot summer days, the Schoppernau forest pool features shady spots under large fir trees. Those keen on swimming can do their laps in the 25-m pool. The water is a comfortable 24 degrees. Kids splash and play in the kids pool and enjoy slipping down the slide into the water.

The swimming pool features numerous lanes for lap swimming. The non-swimming area features a wide slide, fountain shower and a small climbing net. The large yellow-orange 55-m adventure slide with its many curves is especially popular with kids and teens.
