Ausflugsziele in Vorarlberg

The display collection of the "Walsermuseum" is located in the fire station and houses the extensive collection of the Heimatpflege- und Museumsverein Lech-Tannberg.

The "Schollamoos" is located in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Alberschwende. In the past, peat was extracted from this moor. Today, a well-maintained walking path leads through the birch forests and the moor area. 

You should allow at least half an hour for a tour of the Alpine Game Park. The tour begins at Berghaus Pfänder with the children's favourites: the pygmy goats, rabbits and pot-bellied pigs.

The Aquaria Adventure Pool is one of the loveliest bathing complexes in southern Germany. The wide-ranging facilities offer all kind of sporting activities as well as catering for those seeking relaxation.

For half a century, the equipment of the shoemaker workshop of Karl Nachbauer (grandfather of the Schubertiade’s managing director Gerd Nachbauer) had been stowed away. Now it is on display in a small shoemaker museum, which takes up two rooms at Marktstraße 15.

The Egg Museum was founded as a local history museum in 1904. It is the oldest valley museum in the state of Vorarlberg. In 1988 it was reopened after several years of storage of the inventory in the old elementary school. The collection focuses on the Bregenzerwald region.

This museum is dedicated to Vorarlberg’s best known writer and poet who lived in the 19th century.

Come rain or snow, the Bregenz lakeside indoor pool provides a warm friendly place for swimming and splashing around. The protected area for children, with a waterchute and paddling pool, is the perfect place for the very youngest guests to play.

The rediscovery of the Nibelungenlied’s C and A manuscripts at Hohenems Palace in 1755 and 1779, respectively, marked the starting point of its renaissance and rapid establishment as the German national epic.
