It’s said that the Nenzinger Himmel is ‘the only heaven on earth’. It’s mostly a picturesque hiking area where it seems as if time has stood still – pure idyll. It’s possible to hike to the Pfälzer Hütte or to take the circular route past the blue mountain lake to the Alpe Setsch.

Ibexes clamber precariously over the rocks, the grunting of wild boars is to be heard not far away while a marmot whistles in the distance. The mouflon ram raises its curved horns, red deer, hares, goats and pot-bellied pigs continue to feed undisturbed.

The Schwarzenberg trail is perfect for families, since it runs mostly on wide forest trails. The view that is being offered to you includes the entire ridge area such as the "Rheintal". Start at the trail parking lot in Schuttannen and then follow the yellow signs.

The generous 130,000 square metres of space that the Rheinauen along the river Rhine covers are a place where everyone can find their favourite spot even at times when the car park does seem a little crowded.

Among the highlights of the trail are a 3-year-old elm tree, a barbeque area with hammocks, a viewing window, a suspension bridge, an echo chamber hut, fascinating facts about hunting and the local fauna, numerous information boards  and a log cabin which you can build you

The Old Rhine meanders along the border with Switzerland into Lake Constance. The nature landscape of the Old Rhein promises an enjoyable leisure program for everybody. You may have walks in the evening or a bike ride along the Rhein. There are also barbecue spots where you can spend your time.

The lakes that are the Paspels Seen, a favourite bathing spot for many locals, are to be found in Rankweil. Around 20 hectares of lake were created for recreation here – including swimming and angling.

The Feldkirch Wildlife Park provides families with a wonderful insight into animals and the natural world. Marmots, eagles, ibex and countless other animals can be admired here in the Wildlife Park in Feldkirch. A playground also ensures lots of fun and enjoyment.

The Schwimmbad Felsenau swimming baths has history. It has been attracting locals and visitors alike to its cool waters since 1903. Today, it uses a natural source of heat and the water is enhanced with Grander water.
