There’s just one thing you won’t encounter at the Strandbad Bregenz lake-shore swimming baths: boredom. Whether it’s jumping from the jetty into the lake, venturing on to the three-metre springboard or just sliding all day – it’s all possible here.

What’s special about the Walgaubad swimming baths is the 900-square-metre adventure pool with wave ball, the bay with swings and air bubbling up from the bottom, the large water hedgehog and the flow channel.

This is a place where excellent conditions for skiing can be expected: with 109 kilometres of ski runs and 29 ski lifts and cable cars Mellau Damüls Faschina is the largest ski area in the Bregenzerwald.

The municipalities of Zwischenwasser, Sulz, Röthis and Rankweil offer an inexpensive opportunity to learn how to ski in the immediate vicinity with the Furx ski lifts. At two practice lifts, budding skiers can practise in peace, while advanced skiers can use the slopes at the T-bar lift.
