Ausflugsziele in Vorarlberg

There are many favourite places along the shores of Lake Constance and one of them is the bathing area at the Wocherhafen. The harbour has long since gone, but the name has survived. The area today is a popular bathing spot with a parking lot, kiosk and public places to enjoy a barbecue.

There’s just one thing you won’t encounter at the Strandbad Bregenz lake-shore swimming baths: boredom. Whether it’s jumping from the jetty into the lake, venturing on to the three-metre springboard or just sliding all day – it’s all possible here.

The inland basin in Hard is framed on one side by the open-air swimming pool and the Grüne Damm (Green Dyke) on the other. Children can speed along the top of this dam on their trainer or kids’ bikes while others can throw rocks into the water and the adults can enjoy the view from it.

The Jannersee lake is surrounded by green fields and trees in the marsh that is the Lauteracher Ried. That's why people call it ‘Riedsee’ and it’s also the perfect place for an escape from the city into the countryside.

The Bruggerloch is a bathing lake that’s three hectares in size, seven metres deep and conveniently located directly next to the cycle path. But parking spaces are scarce.

The Schwimmbad Felsenau swimming baths has history. It has been attracting locals and visitors alike to its cool waters since 1903. Today, it uses a natural source of heat and the water is enhanced with Grander water.

Fun to the power of three. That means water activities in the adventure pool, splashing around in the toddlers’ area and doing 25-metre lengths in the sports pool at Waldbad Enz (forest swimming baths).

The lakes that are the Paspels Seen, a favourite bathing spot for many locals, are to be found in Rankweil. Around 20 hectares of lake were created for recreation here – including swimming and angling.

The shore feels boundless and the leisure pool is filled with Grander water so it’s possible to enjoy a calm or action-packed atmosphere as desired.

It’s off to the Freibad Frutzau open-air swimming baths when the temperatures start climbing and it gets really hot. Guests may expect everything they could wish for from a generally enjoyable day at the baths – both in the cool water and on land.
