Rohrspitz is part of the Rhine Delta’s nature reserve and is therefore the ideal location for long walks or bike trips with places to stop for a quick refreshing dip in Lake Constance. The 300-metre long beach is a special attraction for families.

The "Schollamoos" is located in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Alberschwende. In the past, peat was extracted from this moor. Today, a well-maintained walking path leads through the birch forests and the moor area.

The lakes that are the Paspels Seen, a favourite bathing spot for many locals, are to be found in Rankweil. Around 20 hectares of lake were created for recreation here – including swimming and angling.

Meeting place, barbecue area, bathing spot and insider tip for the most beautiful sunsets on Lake Constance. The Pipeline in Bregenz runs from Bregenz harbour to the Lochau open-air swimming area and offers plenty of places along the shore for a quick swim.

Curlews, black-tailed godwits, even corn crakes have found a home in the marsh that is the Lauteracher Ried. As have larks, stonechats and whinchats that have long since died out elsewhere.

Neuschwanstein Castle

Neuschwanstein was opened to the public in 1886, only seven weeks after the death of König Ludwig II. The unsociable king had built the castle to enable him to withdraw from the public eye – perversely, his hideaway has now become a major tourist attraction

Grüner Damm

The inland basin in Hard is framed on one side by the open-air swimming pool and the Grüne Damm (Green Dyke) on the other. Children can speed along the top of this dam on their trainer or kids’ bikes while others can throw rocks into the water and the adults can enjoy the view from it.

Alter Rhein

Fishing at the "Alter Rhein"

Anglers beware! If you have your fishing equipment with you, there is the possibility to buy day tickets (from 6:00-22:00) for fishing on the old Rhein. With the day ticket you can fish in the whole area 45 (Rhein 3 – Alter Rhein/Hohenemser Kurve), from Altach to Lustenau.

The zoo of the firm of Doppelmayr in Wolfurt has been home to more than 400 animals from more than 70 species since 1963. The family-friendly facility is open all year round and visitors may enjoy an approximately hour-long walk there for free.
