The Vorarlberg Regional Museum – now known as the Vorarlberg Museum – was founded in 1857, making it one of the oldest museums in the Lake Constance area. Its collections are based on specifically Vorarlberg-orientated themes, whilst retaining national and international links where relevant.

The Franz Schubert Museum traces the great Viennese composer’s life and work in rooms that were built shortly before his birth.

The Kunstmuseum St. Gallen, with its attractive, temporary exhibitions of contemporary and modern art, enjoys international renown.
