The contemplation and meditation trail

Just below St. Gerold priory the contemplation and meditation trail winds its way past a series of carefully designed woodland pools through the stillness of the forest. Leading past the Geroldsruh, the priory pond and the labyrinth, the trail exudes a sense of peace and tranquillity which makes you feel at one with the natural world and its creation. We are all familiar with the visible world. Most people, however, are not as aware of its invisible counterpart, even though it has a much deeper and more intensive influence on all aspects of life than the things we can actually see. Human life only really works when these two worlds are balanced one against the other. The contemplation and meditation trail helps to achieve this. The trail brings you to the labyrinth, an ancient, fascinating symbol of man’s journey through life, with the centre representing life’s one single goal.
