Mansion District

In Dornbirn's "Mansion District", its most elegant residential area, the houses of the industrialist families Winder and Hämmerle line the Dr. Waibelstrasse. Located in the midst of expansive parks, they present a mixture of various styles. House number 12, "Wingathof", was built in 1873 according to English models. With a particularly "romantic" flair, including pallas, castle keep and gargoyles, house number 14 - the "Guntram Hämmerle" villa – built in 1890-92, is especially striking.
