Silvretta Alpine Highway

The Silvretta Alpine Highway is one of the most beautiful and best-loved panoramic roads in the Alps! There is a reason why it is known as the "dream Alpine route for discerning travellers". The spectacular mountain backdrop and the peaceful waters of Lake Vermunt and Lake Silvretta, lying right beside the road, cannot fail to impress, whether you’re in a vehicle or on foot.  

By bike, mountain bike or motor bike

A real highlight for any mountain biker is the Silvretta Bike Safari, which features the Silvretta Alpine Highway and lots of stunning natural scenery en route. Discover the Silvretta Bielerhöhe saddle at 2,032 m above sea level on just two wheels!
Motor bike riders love the 34 pothole-free hairpins on the Silvretta Alpine Highway. After the winding drive up, the stunning mountain backdrop with views of the Piz Buin (with a height of 3,312 m the highest mountain in Vorarlberg) is breathtaking, and really provides the icing on the cake.

Destination Silvretta Bielerhöhe saddle

The Bielerhöhe watershed at the highest point of the Silvretta Alpine Highway is a popular starting point for walking, climbing tours and other summer activities. Located on the saddle between the Montafon and the Paznaun valleys, you can enjoy a breathtaking panorama over the Silvretta Lake, nestling into the starkly beautiful mountain landscape beyond.
