First mentioned in a document in 1391 as "Feste Dornbirn", later called "Oberdorfer Turm" or "Emserschlösschen".
The remains of walls from the medieval "Oberdorfer Thurn" in the courtyard of the house at Oberdorferstrasse 11 recall the times of feudalism. This was the ruling center in Dornbirn for the Counts of Hohenems.
