A real challenge for tightrope walkers and budding climbers

The Laguz-Alpe is located in a small side valley southwest of the Großes Walsertal (not to be confused with the better-known Kleines Walsertal!). This destination is interesting as a detour on the trip over the Faschina-Joch or as an independent, small tour.

A special feature of the Biosphärenpark Großes Walsertal is the extraordinary variety of plants on the "Hahnenkopf" in Faschina, which have developed due to the geological conditions in this area.

An ancient Walser house over 300 years old gives an insight into the life and work of mountain farmers in days gone by.

Visit the barefoot trail on the inner Parpfienz Alpe in Brand. The starting point is accessible in just a few minutes with the Dorfbahn cable car. From the top station simply walk (still wearing your shoes) towards the Innere Parpfienz Alpe.

Just below St. Gerold priory the contemplation and meditation trail winds its way past a series of carefully designed woodland pools through the stillness of the forest.

It all began with the appearance of the Virgin Mary to a shepherd who was cured whilst bathing his injured foot in a spring. Soon thereafter a bath house was built, and the spot was christened the “red spring”.

A unique experience for young and old alike.

The mountain lake can be comfortably reached on foot from the Fontanella Säge bus stop in about 30 minutes. The slightly ascending and descending, low-traffic, asphalted road (access by car only permitted for residents) leads past the houses of Garlitt and on to the Seewaldseetobel.
