The oldest parts of the building originate from the 15th century and the long corridors of the upper floors give us an idea of the architecture of the late Middle Ages. The urban flair of the building is the result of the boom of the mining period.

The Montafon holiday region and especially the Kristberg are located perfectly when it comes to geomancy on the Austrian Alps. It is a magical part of the Alps full of legends and mystical mountain world.

This hike takes you from the Hochjoch cable car mountain station through flowering alpine rose meadows to the Innerkapell alpine pasture (at 1,670 m), where, with a bit of luck, you can look over the dairyman's shoulder as he makes cheese. The way back is via the same route.
