It’s enormous, the Üble Schlucht with its steep cliffs, gushing waterfalls and bizarre limestone rock formations through which the River Frutz forges its path.

Neuschwanstein was opened to the public in 1886, only seven weeks after the death of König Ludwig II. The unsociable king had built the castle to enable him to withdraw from the public eye – perversely, his hideaway has now become a major tourist attraction

The "Schollamoos" is located in the immediate vicinity of the centre of Alberschwende. In the past, peat was extracted from this moor. Today, a well-maintained walking path leads through the birch forests and the moor area. 

Treat Your Feet to a Cold Bath

Even experienced practitioners will be thrilled by its special location as the course has chosen no less a garden than that of the historic Schattenburg Castle. A total of 18 different holes now challenge visitors with pyramids, bumps, loops and labyrinths in the castle gardens.

The Bregenzer Ach’s water travels almost 70 kilometres before it flows into Lake Constance. The closer it gets to the lake, the more quiet spots for sunbathing and wild bathing are to be found among the wooded valleys.

Thundering waterfalls, babbling brooks and unspoilt nature all around. The Örflaschlucht is so awe-inspiring that it quickly makes everyday life vanish into the distance and directs all the senses towards its splendid water displays. The circular route via St.

Curlews, black-tailed godwits, even corn crakes have found a home in the marsh that is the Lauteracher Ried. As have larks, stonechats and whinchats that have long since died out elsewhere.

The Walter zoo is guaranteed to delight visitors of all ages. Over 900 animals and 130 different species make a trip here a very special experience for the whole family!
