Curlews, black-tailed godwits, even corn crakes have found a home in the marsh that is the Lauteracher Ried. As have larks, stonechats and whinchats that have long since died out elsewhere.

Treat Your Feet to a Cold Bath

The lakes that are the Paspels Seen, a favourite bathing spot for many locals, are to be found in Rankweil. Around 20 hectares of lake were created for recreation here – including swimming and angling.

Since 1963 the Doppelmayr Company in Wolfurt has had a zoo, housing over 400 animals of over 70 different kinds.

The Old Rhine meanders along the border with Switzerland into Lake Constance. The nature landscape of the Old Rhein promises an enjoyable leisure program for everybody. You may have walks in the evening or a bike ride along the Rhein. There are also barbecue spots where you can spend your time.

It’s not difficult to find the mini-golf course in Bregenz because it’s located directly on the lakeside promenade next to the Lake Stage and the Bregenz Festival Theatre. So it’s a place where visitors are able to enjoy mini golf and Lake Constance at the same time.

The miniature golf course is embedded in a beautiful green landscape and is the ideal destination for both children and adults. A total of 18 different freshly renovated golf courses and the cosy garden for guests with terrace restaurant invite visitors to spend time there.

Ibexes clamber precariously over the rocks, the grunting of wild boars is to be heard not far away while a marmot whistles in the distance. The mouflon ram raises its curved horns, red deer, hares, goats and pot-bellied pigs continue to feed undisturbed.

Several forest paths with a nature trail that are also suitable for prams lead through the Wildpark (Wildlife Park) on the Ardetzenberg in Feldkirch.

Anglers beware! If you have your fishing equipment with you, there is the possibility to buy day tickets (from 6:00-22:00) for fishing on the old Rhein. With the day ticket you can fish in the whole area 45 (Rhein 3 – Alter Rhein/Hohenemser Kurve), from Altach to Lustenau.
