Basking in the light of Lake Constance, the Bregenz Art Gallery (Kunsthaus) is Vorarlberg’s modern art Mecca.

The new jewel in the cultural crown of East Switzerland and Lake Constance is the museum located at St. Gallen airport in Altenrhein. Housing an unrivalled collection of planes and motor vehicles, the museum has a character all its own - visitors will be astounded!

The Montafon Tourism Museum in Gaschurn is located in an old early fair house and has existed since 1992. For 17 years, the history of tourism was presented here, but since 2009 the house has been reoriented.

The museum of local history in Alberschwende is spread over two locations. The show in the Arzthaus offers insights into the rural way of life and living culture of the 18th and 19th centuries. One focal point is dedicated to the career "From flax to linen".

Elisabeth Schwarzkopf ranks among the most important singers of the 20th century. Luckily, her extraordinary career as an opera and concert performer is well documented through a great number of recordings, which set standards until the present day.

The Alamannen-Museumsdorf Mäder is dedicated to the history and culture of the Alamanni, who immigrated to Vorarlberg in the 2nd half of the 6th century AD at the latest. They subsequently shaped the language, customs and mentality of the region.

The museum, which is housed in a typical Bregenzerwald farmhouse from the 18th century, provides insights into the living style and circumstances in a region that continues to be characterised by timber architecture.

The Lech Museum operates its facility as a house for culture, history and language with a supra-regional appeal in a contemporary manner and refers to socially relevant contemporary issues in its special exhibitions and publications.

The symbol of the city of Bregenz, the Martin’s Tower offers not only fabulous panoramic views of the mountains, town and lake but also, thanks to the historical exhibition it contains, a deep insight into the city’s fascinating history.

The rediscovery of the Nibelungenlied’s C and A manuscripts at Hohenems Palace in 1755 and 1779, respectively, marked the starting point of its renaissance and rapid establishment as the German national epic.
