An Alpine jewel

The Great Walser Valley can officially call itself a biosphere park, which indicates a high quality of life. For centuries, however, the population had to solve manifold problems in order to exist at all.

The mountain lake can be comfortably reached on foot from the Fontanella Säge bus stop in about 30 minutes. The slightly ascending and descending, low-traffic, asphalted road (access by car only permitted for residents) leads past the houses of Garlitt and on to the Seewaldseetobel.

Alp Stafel is located at 1,540 m above sea level and can be reached in about 30 minutes on foot from the Faschina car park. Here you can buy mountain cheese as well as milk and fresh alpine butter.

A natural monument in Klostertal

The Mason Waterfall - a natural monument in Braz in Klostertal - has a drop height of 80 metres. The waterfall is fed by the Masonbach spring, which rises about 300 metres behind the waterfall on the Masonalpe.

The Laguz-Alpe is located in a small side valley southwest of the Großes Walsertal (not to be confused with the better-known Kleines Walsertal!). This destination is interesting as a detour on the trip over the Faschina-Joch or as an independent, small tour.

In early 2018 a new climbing route was established on the massive Fallbachwand by the waterfall of the same name, known hitherto only to ice climbers.

Located in the rock massif behind the traditional “Gasthof Post”, the Vorarlberg Salt Grotto is accessible to both guests of the stylish hotel and non-residents. Constructed using 44 tons of Himalaya salt, it is the largest artificial salt grotto in Europe.
