The Great Walser Valley can officially call itself a biosphere park, which indicates a high quality of life. For centuries, however, the population had to solve manifold problems in order to exist at all.

Commemorating the local Jewish community and their wide-reaching contribution to the development of Vorarlberg and surrounding areas, the Jewish Museum in Hohenems is a regional museum with international flair, evocatively recalling the exemplary history of the Diaspora.

The oldest parts of the building originate from the 15th century and the long corridors of the upper floors give us an idea of the architecture of the late Middle Ages. The urban flair of the building is the result of the boom of the mining period.

The Klostertal Museum in Wald am Arlberg opened in 1994 and is housed in the former "Thöny-Hof". The eventful history of the estate can be traced back to its construction around the middle of the 17th century. The farm was inhabited and farmed until 1959.
