Ausflugsziele in Vorarlberg

This museum is dedicated to Vorarlberg’s best known writer and poet who lived in the 19th century.

The Vorarlberg Regional Museum – now known as the Vorarlberg Museum – was founded in 1857, making it one of the oldest museums in the Lake Constance area. Its collections are based on specifically Vorarlberg-orientated themes, whilst retaining national and international links where relevant.

The Egg Museum was founded as a local history museum in 1904. It is the oldest valley museum in the state of Vorarlberg. In 1988 it was reopened after several years of storage of the inventory in the old elementary school. The collection focuses on the Bregenzerwald region.

The Great Walser Valley can officially call itself a biosphere park, which indicates a high quality of life. For centuries, however, the population had to solve manifold problems in order to exist at all.

The FLATZ Museum in the former premises of the Alte Naturschau goes back to a donation of works by the artist FLATZ, born in Dornbirn in 1952, to the city of Dornbirn. It was opened in 2009 by the former documenta director Jan Hoet.

Basking in the light of Lake Constance, the Bregenz Art Gallery (Kunsthaus) is Vorarlberg’s modern art Mecca.

The Klostertal Museum in Wald am Arlberg opened in 1994 and is housed in the former "Thöny-Hof". The eventful history of the estate can be traced back to its construction around the middle of the 17th century. The farm was inhabited and farmed until 1959.

The Montafon Tourism Museum in Gaschurn is located in an old early fair house and has existed since 1992. For 17 years, the history of tourism was presented here, but since 2009 the house has been reoriented.

Messe Friedrichshafen is centrally located in the heart of Europe. Friedrichshafen also offers a wide range of conference and event capacities: From seminars to large-scale events with up to 10,000 people.

The Sitterwerk on the site of a former textile dye works is a lively place characterised by art and production.
